I would personally choose to read <<EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL: Respect Others & Be Yourself>> by Caroline Strong over <<LEADERSHIP IS A CHOICE: Conquer Your Fears & You Can Be A Leader Too>> by Austin Young, and I reckon Ms. Strong’s book contains abundant emotionally powerful languages and real-life examples worth contemplating , including positive and negative ones. For a mental-health masterpiece like this, I assume the author would utilize her eloquence to lead the readers to explore the world she pictures and the world inside everyone’s brain and heart, therefore clearly conveying her point about a(n) ideal world where every individual cherishes their own and others’ uniqueness. The particular reason I favor Ms. Strong’s book is the urge to improve the current disrespectful culture around the society. Because of the invention and booming of the Internet and social media, the distance between individuals has been dramatically / drastically / rapidly / swiftly / sharply (迅速 地、戲劇性地) lessened , which is a double-edged sword. Positively, it enhances our opportunity to interact with others and share our thoughts and lives. Contrarily , it sometimes unfortunately serves as a platform for fury and hate to flood, especially for anonymous online forums; when people hide behind the cover of screens and encryptions, the original moral boundaries are easily discarded . These activities frequently turn into cyberbullying. Nameless accounts fire offensive speeches toward any group that’s different from their own nature. It is like a war without the sound of bombs and bullets, but the damage could be equivalent. Consequences of cyberbullying may lead to real-world bullying, or sometimes suicide from the victims. As a society we undoubtedly wish to eliminate all these tragedies, and the first step is to establish respect and understandings for others and ourselves. Once we all possess the sense of sympathy and empathy, I believe that the brighter future will be short from now.

There’s a saying that / As the clichéd proverb goes it is more blessed to give than to receive. From my experience, it is perfectly true. When I was in senior high school , I was once a teacher assistant in math. Being blessed with a(n) talent in math, I was assigned to a task of teaching my classmates when they had difficulties in solving math problems. At first , I thought it was time-consuming since I barely had no time to take care of my own schoolwork and I was reluctant to do so. Yet , I still followed the teacher’s request and started to help my classmates with their math issues . After teaching for several times, I gradually felt more and more delighted when helping others. I taught them what to do when confronting a math question, and how to solve it skillfully in a shorter time with my experience. The truth is, I started to love teaching others and volunteered to keep helping my classmates in the remaining semesters. This was when I first realized the true meaning of the proverb. Teaching others in a field I am adept in makes me feel achieved when seeing their progress . Nonetheless , achievement is not the only reason that makes me love helping others. The determining point is that I also learn something from teaching my classmates. Teaching others allows me to reorganize what I’ve learned. That is to say , I get more familiar with the knowledge I obtained in class. In this case , not only those who are taught benefit from me. Likewise , I advance in math. From then on, I become a person who always volunteers to help others with their problems not only in the field of math but also other subjects or life issues. This experience makes dedication a significant part of my life.

Doing housework has been seen as a women's job especially in Chinese society due to the ideology, which derived from the ancient times that women should keep the house while men earn money. Yet , this concept isn’t necessarily right in modern times. From my point of view , the burden of doing chores shouldn’t always fall on an individual. Being a part of the family, everybody should at least dedicate some time to doing housework based on the ability of each person. Another example is that, if hanging clothes is too challenging for a kid, a father would possibly take the burden of hanging clothes. On the other hand, working time also plays a(n) important role in determining the portion of the time each person spends on doing chores. That is to say , a person who spends less time on working should reasonably devote himself and comfortable . Take my family for example , my mother has an interest in cooking. At the same time , neither my father nor children have the capability of that. Consequently , my mother becomes the one who always takes care of my family’s meals. Yet , my father never takes it for granted. In return, he does his best on doing other chores, such as doing laundry, sweeping the floor, washing the car, and etc. . As for children, including me, we are in charge of doing dishes and taking out the trash. My family believes that the earlier a kid starts to help doing housework, the more possible he more to his/her own family in the future. Doing housework is never an individual’s task.

It is generally believed that fresh graduates with a master degree are usually guaranteed a decent job due to the longer learning period and broader knowledge acquired from school. However , a recent news reflects the opposite of the public’s belief. 50 graduates with a master’s degree applied for the job as a waste collector which doesn't require a high education background to excel at the work. Based on my observation, this unexpected phenomenon derives from the problem of excessive master programs in Taiwan nowadays, meaning that students can easily get into a master’s school. Therefore / Thus / Hence / Consequently / As a result, master programs have become a(n) desirable choice for students to escape from the reality of finding a job and stepping into the workplace. What’s worse , these programs are not well-designed for students to gain more expertise and practical experiences during the two-year period. Eventually , the graduates with master’s degree tend to lose competitiveness against others with only bachelor’s degree but a few internships working experience. In order to avoid(ing) the above-mentioned phenomenon from happening to myself, I would not only put on my academic studies but also proactively strive for the opportunity to function as the coordinator of various activities or clubs. In my freshman and sophomore year, I would study really hard to lay foundation for my major expertise and, in the meantime , participate in academic clubs to gain practical experiences from the project. Based on my strong knowledge foundation from school courses along with project experiences from club events, I would apply for the position as the president of my club to enhance my leadership and organizational skills in my last two years of university life, in that companies have stressed the significance of soft skills in recent years. With my strong background expertise as well as my soft skills, I believe these preparations would qualify me as a desired candidate for my coveting companies.

Due to the broadness of the park, we can see the complete sun in the sky. Sometimes , when I’m alone at home and find myself with no errands to run, no tasks to complete , and no responsibilities to fulfill, I’ll sit down at the edge of my bed and pick up my phone. I feel unwanted , unimportant , and unloved. Many adolescents in our world today turn to distractions whenever they feel lonely as a coping method . With social media, internet gaming, and entertainment apps so easily accessible to the public nowadays, people tend to divert their attention from their true emotions by stimulating themselves with such distractions. They are afraid to face their raw and naked selves head on, and therefore turn to any other means that can temporarily numb the loneliness they feel. However , I’ve never been one to run away from my problems , instead, I believe it is my responsibility to learn how to battle with my inner demons. Throughout my teenage years, I tried countless different methods to try and escape the grasp of loneliness, and eventually found the two things that set me free. The first is dance. Dancing has always been the most natural way my body practices self-expression. Being immersed in the wonders of music and allowing my body to flow freely with the melody, allows me to forget about my worries and reconnect with my body and with my inner self. The second is reaching out to my loved ones. Although it is a cliché, talking and laughing with those who genuinely love and care for you never fails to cure or saddened a lonely heart. Because in this world, there are people out there who are willing to take your hand and go through the ups and downs of life together.

Living in Taiwan, we are no stranger to the forming-long-line phenomenon . There are always people waiting in lines for foods or for goods on the street. However , was it really worth it following this trend? Once I had no idea what for dinner and I looked up some reviews on Google Map, it grabbed my attention when I saw a highly rated ramen shop on the lists. Though being warned by reviewers that people might have to wait in line for hours, still , I rushed to the shop before dinner time to see if I could be the first one to / in order to / so as to / with a view to / with an eye to / for the sake of (為了) avoid(ing) waiting long. However , it seemed that everyone all shared the same thoughts. When I arrived, the line was insanely long! People had already formed a line even to the next block of the ramen shop. Triggered by curiosity, I did not leave but made up my mind to stay in line. As ten minutes went by, the line seemed not moving. As half an hour went by, it started to move a bit. As an hour went by, the hunger was trying to kill me. Therefore , when the ramen was finally served, starving makes me gobble up , but without really tasting the food. When I arrived back home, a sense of emptiness descended on me. The ramen was fine , but I was so not sure if it was actually a great ramen or it just satisfied my hunger. This experience made me not blindly follow the line again. In my opinion , first , living in the internet generation, we depend too much on the internet. We tend to believe in the internet reviews while sometimes the high rating may just come from the promotion of the shop; that is , people get discount by giving high rates for the shop. Secondly, sometimes we just want to fulfill / satisfy / gratify (使滿足) our curiosity by trying those popular stuff. When we ask honestly to ourselves, we might not necessarily need them. Above all , when deciding to stay in a long line for new things again, try not to blindly follow the trend and have better question ourselves to make sure our needs. Then , we will not get lost in this phenomenon and get to spend the right time on the right things.

Out of the three options, I consider the elder caring movement the most suitable for a community event because of its practicality and meaningfulness. Firstly , compared to the other two options, hosting bazaars or art galleries, elder pay necessaries higher attention and assistance even though the government is currently working on it; consequently , it would serve the whole society a greater good if we dedicate the refreshing juvenile energy to the present situation . The students can improvise if they want or even film their own interview video—it is all about enjoyment and activeness. However , my profound adoration for my motherland, Taiwan, is not solely based on emotional attachments, but for a large number of logical reasons. The major two of them are the stable democracy system and the diversified culture. As the first country to implement democracy in Asia, Taiwan serves as the lighthouse of progressiveness. For instance, the referendum regarding the legalization of samesex marriage stimulates intense discussions around the society, and no matter which side the ultimate result favors, it demonstrates the priceless spirit of democracy. If the situation was not like this, the policies and laws would be dictated by the government—there would not remain any platform for public discussion, and you would possibly encounter legal consequences for disputation . It would be such an unimaginable situation for the Taiwanese because we have been “indulged” with democracy and view it for granted, so democracy is the value I cherish the most about Taiwan. One of two is my attention to "entertainment and celebrities" should be reduced and the other is that I should pay more attention to the top three topics and enhance my understanding of society and the world.

She soon dropped her eyes on the shirt showed on the closet window. After trying the shirt up, it completely fit her! No crowd, no one fighting discounts with her, and no one pushing behind her, but with great products——this store was a paradise for Jane! It was time that Jane found she shouldn’t have been fascinated by brand-named products only. Although the clothes may not be as fashionable as those sold in the department store. Jane found that she could spend less but still got fine products. Jane finally got her alternative and hopefully would not experience the anniversary sale tragedy again.

Such horrifying accidents as random school shooting happened in U.S arouse people’s attention about the students’ safety problems. As the pillar of the future society, students absorb abundant knowledge, foster their personality, and broaden their horizons in school. School environment indeed play a vital rule in adolescents’ growing process. If students cannot study in a secure environment, they are deprived of their fundamental right of education. For example , outside people may break into school and steal student’s belongings if there’s no adequate security system. It wastes lots of time for students to lock their stuff in locker every time when they have to leave the classroom. They may even spend plenty of time finding their lost belongings or stationery. The above mentioned , obviously , lead to students’ losses of their precious time to study or join in extracurricular activities, not to mention those scary accidents including random shooting, robbery, or violent fight that impose profoundly negative effect on students. However , it’s obvious that all visitors neglect the sign and keep taking photos in the flower field. What they have done may cause some negative effects to the beautiful views and other visitors. From the perspective of visitors, they might want to take some unforgettable pictures for memories. To get the vantage point for shooting, most of the visitors decide to neglect the warning sign in front of them and do whatever they want in the flower field. What they didn’t think of is that once they violate the notice , they not only destroy the natural scenery but also sacrifice others’ chances to visit this splendid place. The use of warning sign isn’t trying to limit visitors’ freedom but to ensure our safety and the completion of the scenery. As a conclusion , I think visitors should follow the notice at the traveling spots and not to take those charming spots for granted. As long as we comply with the rules and protect the natural views together, those tourist attractions can be maintained longer and let more people enjoy the amazing spectacle.
